Characteristics:
This product is a white powder; odorless. It is insoluble in water or dilute hydrochloric acid.
Identification:
Take approximately 5 mg of this product, place in a platinum crucible, add 200 mg of potassium carbonate, mix well, ignite at 600-700°C for 10 minutes, cool, add 2 ml of water and heat slightly to dissolve, slowly add 2 ml of ammonium molybdate solution; the solution shows a deep yellow color.

Acidity or Alkalinity: pH value should be 4.0-8.0
Chlorides: Not more than 0.02%
Sulfates: Not more than 0.05%
Loss on Drying: Not more than 5.0%
Loss on Ignition: Not more than 8.5%
Heavy Metals: Not more than 10 ppm
Arsenic: Not more than 3 ppm
Microbial Limits: Total aerobic count ≤ 100 cfu/g, Total yeast and mold count ≤ 10 cfu/g, Escherichia coli absent
Assay:
Calculated on the ignited basis, the content of SiO₂ shall not be less than 99.0%.
